NEW DELHI: The grand inauguration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, the Rajasthan state government in India has issued an order for the closure of all slaughterhouses, meat, and fish shops across the region.

The directive, affecting predominantly Muslim-owned establishments, aims to mark the significant occasion of the Ram Temple consecration.

The decision, communicated by Suresh Kumar Ola, the Director of the Local Self-Government Department, instructs municipal authorities in Rajasthan to enforce the closure on January 22. This strategic move aligns with the broader observance of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple, a momentous event in Hindu culture.

The scope of the closure extends to all slaughterhouses, meat, and fish shops within the borders of Rajasthan, reflecting a temporary halt in their operations as a mark of respect and participation in the celebrations surrounding the inauguration of the Ram Mandir.

Furthermore, the Indian government has declared a half-day closure for Central Government Offices, Central Institutions, and Central Industrial Establishments nationwide on January 22. The Ministry of Personnel and Training officially communicated this decision through a memorandum issued on January 19, emphasizing the significance of the half-day closure on the mentioned establishments throughout the country.

As the nation prepares for the historic inauguration of the Ram Mandir, these closures symbolize a collective acknowledgment of the cultural and religious importance of the event, fostering a spirit of unity and participation among diverse communities.
