CM Punjab Approves AI Technology to Curb Traffic Violations

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday approved the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to determine traffic violations.

In the first phase, the AI monitoring for violating wearing helmets and seat belt rules will be monitored. In the second phase, challans will be issued through this technology for twenty-four violations of traffic rules.

It was also reported that after the provincial capital Lahore, the e-challan system will be started through across the province.

Anti-encroachment Drive in Punjab

Moreover, it was decided to immediately remove temporary encroachments at thirty-one sites to improve the traffic flow on roads.

CM Maryam Nawaz also directed not to remove the carts of poor vendors but rather to establish a cart line. It was also decided to install tyre teasers at eighty-eight places to prevent violation of one-way.

Maryam said that strict enforcement of traffic rules would be ensured across the province as the government could not allow the lives of innocent people to be hurt.
