PESHAWAR: Justice (Retd) Arshad Hussain Shah, Interim Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Monday, took notice of the murder of a girl allegedly on a local jirga’s order in Kohistan and asked the concerned authorities for a speedy inquiry into this tragic incident.
An official statement said that the CM contacted the Additional Chief Secretary Home and asked to take all necessary steps to conduct an immediate inquiry into the incident and submit a report as soon as possible.
Hussain Shah also directed the Inspector General of KP Police to immediately arrest all the culprits involved in the gory incident. He said that supremacy of law and order would be ensured at all costs. He directed to ensure the safety of another girl in the alleged video, who was the victim’s friend.
It is worth mentioning here that in the Kolai-Palas district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, a young girl tragically lost her life following orders from a local jirga in Barsharyal village, Kohistan’s Palas. A distressing video of the incident, circulating for four days on social media, reveals the severity of the situation. Police have intervened, rescuing another girl. —APP
