ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir is set to host an iftar for the Green Shirts on April 7 in Rawalpindi as players of the national team are already engaged in tough diligent training at the fitness camp in Kakul.
Players of the national side are currently part of a fitness camp in Kakul, Abbottabad, where they are training and working out at the Army School of Physical Training (ASPT). The training camp would be concluded on April 7, followed by the visit of the players straight to Pindi for Iftar with the army chief General Asim Munir.

Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Sahibzada Farhan, Haseebullah, Saud Shakeel, Usman Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Haris, Salman Ali Agha, Azam Khan, Irfan Khan Niazi, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Usama Mir, Mohammad Nawaz, Mehran Mumtaz, Abrar Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Ali, Zaman Khan, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Aamir Jamal, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Amir.
It is noted that, after attending the training camp, the first major encounter of the Green Shirts would be with the Black Caps, where both sides would play a five-match T20I series being started on April 18 in Rawalpindi.
Michael Bracewell would lead New Zealand during their tour of Pakistan, whereas Trent Boult, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Mitch Santner and Kane Williamson won’t feature in the series due to commitments in the Indian Premier League.
Colin Munro was also unavailable for selection, whereas Tim Southee has been rested. Pakistan’s squad for the series will be announced soon.
