COAS Visits Heavy Industries Taxila, Lauds Technical Capabilities: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, on Tuesday, visited Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) to review the technical capabilities of HIT, the progress of ongoing projects, indigenization efforts, and recently undertaken modernization measures, ISPR said in a press release.

During his visit, COAS toured various factories of HIT and witnessed the manufacturing, rebuild, and upgradation of tanks, APCs, enhanced protection solutions, remote weapon systems, and indigenous 155 mm Artillery gun barrels for the Pakistani Army.

He appreciated the commitment of officers and the workforce to transform HIT into a modern defense production establishment that can meet the requirements of the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) at par with international standards.

COAS says HIT is a hub of knowledge economy and R&D

COAS remarked that HIT is a hub of the knowledge economy and R&D, which is key to achieving self-reliance in defense production and contributing towards national exports and the economy.

He expressed his full confidence in the capabilities of its personnel, lauding their efforts to improve HIT’s technical capabilities and modernization efforts.

Earlier on arrival, COAS was received by Chairman HIT. This visit by COAS is another example of the Pakistani Army’s commitment to promoting indigenous defense production and modernizing its military capabilities.

HIT’s technical capabilities and modernization efforts are critical in achieving this goal and ensuring the security of Pakistan.
