Weather Update: Cold, Dry Weather Expected in Most of Pakistan: PMD

ISLAMABAD: Expect predominantly cold and dry weather across most regions of Pakistan with partly cloudy skies in upper districts over the next 12 hours.

However, anticipate light rain and snowfall in the high mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, and nearby areas. Upper Sindh, the plains of Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may experience persistent smog and fog during morning and night hours.

Morning temperatures in major cities were as follows: Islamabad and Peshawar at five degrees Celsius, Lahore at ten, Karachi at seventeen, Quetta at two, Gilgit and Murree at four, and Muzafarabad at six degrees Celsius.

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar and Jammu are expected to have cold and dry weather, while Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramulla might experience partly cloudy and cold conditions. Leh is forecasted to have partly cloudy and very cold weather.

This morning’s temperatures were recorded as follows: Srinagar and Pulwama at minus two degrees Celsius, Jammu at ten, Leh at minus nine, Anantnag and Shopian at minus one, and Baramulla at zero degrees Celsius.
