ISLAMABAD: Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy Rear Admiral Shahram Irani called on Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu here on Monday and appreciated the professionalism of PAF personnel.
They discussed issues of mutual interest and regional developments, a PAF press release said.
During the meeting, the Chief of the Air Staff underlined that the advancement in space, cyber, electronic warfare, and niche technologies coupled with artificial intelligence (AI) had greatly affected the traditional environment of national security.
He briefed the visiting dignitary about multiple ongoing projects being carried out by PAF with a special focus on the modernization and development of indigenous capabilities.
Pak-Iran ties stressed
He also emphasized that Pakistan and Iran enjoyed longstanding cultural, religious, and historical connections, which were manifested through strong relations between both nations.
Rear Admiral Shahram Irani lauded the exceptional progress made by PAF on its path to modernization.
Irani also commended Pakistan’s continuous efforts for regional stability. He vowed to play his role for further improvement in military-to-military relations, particularly in the domains of training, operations, and the aviation industry.
