Sozhou, China: During his visit to China, Commerce Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz toured the headquarters of Hengli Group, a pioneering entity in oil refining, petrochemicals, polyesters, and textiles.
The visit provided insights into Hengli Group’s remarkable evolution from a Suzhou weaving factory in 1994 to its current status as the operator of the world’s largest terephthalic acid plant.
Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz led a delegation in constructive discussions with representatives from Hengli Group, exploring potential collaboration opportunities and emphasizing the role of private sector partnerships in the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The discussions centered on leveraging CPEC initiatives to facilitate technology transfer and collaboration with Chinese entities, showcasing the substantial potential for Pakistan’s economic growth.
