Commerce Minister Ejaz Unveils New Collaborative Potential during China Visit

Sozhou, China: During his visit to China, Commerce Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz toured the headquarters of Hengli Group, a pioneering entity in oil refining, petrochemicals, polyesters, and textiles.

The visit provided insights into Hengli Group’s remarkable evolution from a Suzhou weaving factory in 1994 to its current status as the operator of the world’s largest terephthalic acid plant.

Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz led a delegation in constructive discussions with representatives from Hengli Group, exploring potential collaboration opportunities and emphasizing the role of private sector partnerships in the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The discussions centered on leveraging CPEC initiatives to facilitate technology transfer and collaboration with Chinese entities, showcasing the substantial potential for Pakistan’s economic growth. Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz affirmed his commitment to nurturing such collaborations, recognizing their significance in generating employment opportunities and driving economic development in Pakistan.
