DUBAI: A video circulating on social media that appears to show a giant hologram of Barbie walking in Dubai has been confirmed to be computer-generated and not a real display. The video shows the skyscraper-sized toy emerging from her box near the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.

The posts claim that the 3D hologram was part of a promotion for a film and has sparked curiosity and confusion among social media users. However, Eye Studio, an advertising company based in the United Arab Emirates, revealed that the video was digitally created. The studio’s owner, Juhi Rupani, confirmed that the giant Barbie was added to real footage of Dubai using computer-generated technology.

Video Aimed to Wonder People

Rupani acknowledged that the intention behind the video was to make people wonder if it was real or not, and she expressed satisfaction that the confusion added to its appeal. She clarified that the video was not part of any official campaign by Mattel or Warner Bros. for the film.

Despite the video’s non-authenticity, it gained significant attention and interest, showcasing the power of digital technology in creating visually captivating content. The film associated with the Barbie character is set to be released in August in the United Arab Emirates.
