ISLAMABAD: A local accountability court Monday acquitted PML-N’s former finance minister Ishaq Dar in assets beyond means case.

Islamabad accountability court announced its verdict reserved earlier in the day. “No evidence of corruption found against Ishaq Dar”, the court held in its verdict.

On previous hearing, NAB prosecutor Afzal Qureshi had told the court that there was no evidence of corrupt practices against Ishaq Dar.

Today, Judge Mohammad Bashir sought the NAB Prosecutor General submit its reply in writing. “Reply in writing if you have no objection over acquittal of Ishaq Dar and other accused”, judge ordered.

Ishaq Dar’s counsel and the National Accountability Bureau Prosecutor Afzal Qureshi had concluded their arguments in the case in previous hearing.
