CANBERRA, Australia: Cricket Australia (CA) has announced plans to establish Pakistan fan zones during the Australia-Pakistan white-ball series in November.
This initiative, in line with CA’s Multicultural Action Plan, aims to promote inclusivity and enhance the cricket experience for fans of diverse backgrounds. The Pakistan team is set to compete in three one day internationals (ODIs) and as many T20 internationals against Australia, commencing November 4 at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
CA has designated specific seating areas for Pakistani fans across all six venues, with facilities including prayer areas and a variety of halal food options to ensure a comfortable and culturally considerate environment for spectators. Building on this, CA had previously established India fan zones for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, inviting Indian fans to don blue attire and bring traditional instruments for an enhanced match experience at venues such as MCG and SCG. Details regarding ticket sales for both Pakistan and Indian fan zones will be released by CA next week.
After the ODIs, Pakistan and Australia are set to engage in a three-match T20I series. Pakistan’s most recent T20I encounter in Australia dates back to 2022 during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final.
