RIYADH: Amid rumours that Cristiano Ronaldo’s relationship with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez was in trouble, the Portuguese football star took to Twitter on Sunday to clear the air.

Ronaldo shared a picture of himself and Rodriguez, who he has been dating for almost seven years, and wrote: “Cheers to Love.”

This came after Portuguese media reported that the couple’s relationship was in crisis, with some suggesting that they were only together to “feed the product.”

During a Portuguese television channel’s programme, Daniel Nascimento had claimed that Ronaldo was fed up with Rodriguez and that they were not doing well.

Psychologist Quintino Aries also analysed the couple’s recent behaviour at public events and drew conclusions about Ronaldo’s personal life.

Cristiano Ronaldo put rumours to rest

However, Ronaldo’s latest tweet seems to put those rumours to rest, at least for now. It’s not the first time that the footballer has had to address rumours about his personal life.

Earlier this year, he denied allegations that he broke COVID-19 protocols while he was on international duty with the Portuguese national team.

Ronaldo, who signed for Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia in a deal worth more than 200 million euros last year, has been busy with his club.

The 37-year-old footballer recently helped his team win the Saudi Crown Prince Cup, scoring a hat-trick in the final. He has also been focusing on the upcoming World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Qatar in 2022.

It remains to be seen whether Ronaldo and Rodriguez will face any more rumours about their relationship in the future.

For now, the footballer seems happy with his partner, and fans will be hoping that the couple can work through any issues they may be facing.
