Crown Prince Congratulates King Salman on Saudi Arabia’s Win to Host World Expo 2030

RIYADH: Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has congratulated Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Saudi Arabia’s win to host the World Expo 2030 in Riyadh, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) has designated Saudi Arabia as the host for this global event, scheduled to be held from October 2030 until March 2031.

Crown Prince also expressed gratitude to the countries that supported Saudi bid, as well as to the two competing countries.

He said Saudi Arabia’s selection as the host of the World Expo 2030 underscores its influential and leading role, and the global confidence it enjoys. He further stated Saudi Arabia has become an ideal destination for hosting major international events, including the World Expo.

Reiterating Saudi Arabia’s commitment to host an extraordinary and unparalleled edition of the World Expo, Crown Prince stressed the importance of being an active and positive role model in the drive to shape a brighter future for mankind.

The Expo would provide an international platform to bring together cutting-edge technologies and the brightest minds to explore opportunities and address the challenges to the planet.

Crown Prince went to say that this Expo gives a remarkable opportunity to share Saudi Arabia’s unprecedented journey of transformation with the world.

He said the main theme of the expo is “The Era of Change: Together for a Foresighted Tomorrow”, and its sub-topics are: “A Different Tomorrow”, “Climate Action”, and “Prosperity for All”.

Saudi Arabia enjoys a strategic and important geographical location. The country is like a bridge to link continents, which makes it an attractive destination for the most prominent global forums and international investments and visits.

According to the BIE the Kingdom will be hosting the exhibition after a secret ballot during the 173rd General Assembly of BIE in Paris.

Saudi Arabia’s bid received 119 votes from member countries. Busan, in the Republic of Korea, and Rome, in Italy were two other cities those competed alongside Riyadh.
