RIYADH: The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) has concluded the ”Madarik” program, which engaged around 1,000 participants in order to enhance their space-related knowledge and contribute to the growth of Saudi Arabia’s space sector, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The SPA reported that all participants underwent concentrated training in three specialized tracks: Space Business, Space Software and Data, and Space Engineering. The three-month Madarik program was organized in partnership with the International Space University in France, the Thunderbird School of Global Management, the Georgia Institute of Technology, Saudi BAE Systems, and Al Yamamah University as education partners, according to CST.

The courses were carried out in person in Riyadh and Jeddah, CST maintained, saying that the program helped hone participants’ skills and deepen their knowledge in specialized space science tracks. The commission also highlighted that the program aimed to enable all participants to keep pace with the development of the Saudi space sector and build a sustainable future in the sector.

Madarik precisely covered diverse tracks, including the Space Business track, which developed participants’ understanding of space economics and equipped them with the skills required to contribute to the success of space projects, the SPA added.  Madarik, which started last May, was designed to attract fresh graduates, professionals, and experienced specialists as part of CST’s role in regulating the space sector, empowering national talent, and fostering interest in future space professions, the SPA further reported.
