Daily Khabrain Warned of Suspension from Central Media List

ISLAMABAD: The Implementation Tribunal for Newspaper Employees (ITNE) has warned Daily Khabrain – a Lahore-based Urdu language newspaper – of getting suspended from the Central Media List (CML) in case of non-compliance to a previous judgment of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

The court directed the daily to comply with the orders of IHC before the next hearing. Daily Khabrain was made a respondent in a petition filed in ITNE by Syed Maqsood Ali Shah.

Recovery from Daily Khabrain

The IHC, in its judgment in June, had directed the recovery of a decretal amount of Rs. 760,237 and a fine of Rs. 50,000 from Daily Khabrain.

Maintained by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the CML deals with newspapers and magazines that are eligible to acquire government advertisements.
