RAWALPINDI: In a shocking incident, a veiled woman was robbed and subjected to violence by dacoits in broad daylight in Rawalpindi on Monday.
The incident took place in the Hukmaddad area in the jurisdiction of Waris Police Station. CCTV footage shows that a woman draped in a veil was making her way from her residence to her mother’s home when dacoits, riding on a motorcycle, cornered her in a secluded alley.
Wasting no time, the deceits immobilized the woman and forcibly snatched her gold jewellery, mobile phone, and cash. Confronted with her resistance, the dacoits resorted to violence, instilling fear in her before cruelly hurling her to the ground. Armed with weapons, the culprits fled the scene, audaciously waving their arms as they made their escape.
The entire heart-wrenching sequence was captured by CCTV cameras, revealing the stark audacity and sheer brutality exhibited by the dacoits towards the woman.

Woman Lodges Protest Against Assailants
Subsequently, the victim woman approached the Waris Khan Police Station and lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against the assailants. In response to the incident, law enforcement agencies promptly initiated an investigation based on the formal complaint. Authorities are determined to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety of the residents.
Chief Police Officer (CPO) of Rawalpindi has also taken immediate note of the incident, and called for a detailed report from the Superintendent of Police (SP) Rawal. A formal notice pertaining to the dacoity has been issued, laying the groundwork for necessary legal actions against the wrongdoers.
SP Rawal, Faisal Saleem, has instituted a specialized team tasked with tracking down and apprehending the perpetrators. Police authorities emphasize that they are leaving no stone unturned and using every available resource, including the invaluable footage captured by CCTV cameras, to apprehend the suspects.
