His body was found from Austria’s one of the fastest melting glaciers in the Alpine mountain range. According to an assessment the glacier has lost 89.5 meters in 2021/2022.

These kinds of cases have also appeared in the past. In June, human remains and bones were found on the same Tyrolean glacier by a climber.

Switzerland has had similar cases, as the body of a German climber who disappeared in 1986 was recently found on a glacier near the Matterhorn mountain.

The melting ice exposed hiking gear on the surface. DNA analysis proved the climber’s identity, ending 37 years of uncertainty since his disappearance during a hike.

Hot summer conditions have impacted the glaciers in Switzerland and Austria.
