BANDUNG, Indonesia: A tragic bus accident on Indonesia’s Java island resulted in the deaths of at least 11 people and left dozens more injured.
The bus, carrying over 60 high school students and teachers from Depok to Lembang for a graduation trip, crashed at 6:48 PM on Saturday.
According to West Java province police spokesman Jules Abraham Abast, the bus lost control, tilted to the left, and collided with a car and three motorcycles. Among the casualties were nine students, one teacher, and a motorcyclist.
Thirteen individuals sustained serious injuries, while 40 others suffered minor injuries. While local traffic police chief Undang Syarif Hidayat suspected brake malfunction as the cause, police are still investigating the accident’s root cause.
