The crash involved local military helicopters, according to the local military. It occurred in Trigg County, near the large Fort Campbell military base.

Helicopters crashed during training

According to a Fort Campbell spokesperson, two HH60 Blackhawk helicopters crashed during a “routine training mission.” They stated that the crew members’ current status is unknown. He stated that the command’s priority is to care for service members and their families.

They also stated that the incident was being investigated and that additional information would be released as it became available.

The Fort Campbell military base is just outside of Trigg County. The helicopters involved are from the 101st Airborne Division, the US Army’s only air assault division, and have been deployed to conflict zones worldwide.
