Defense Day Signifies Sacrifice for Homeland, Balochistan Home Minister

QUETTA: Balochistan’s Home and Tribal Affairs Minister, Mir Zubair Jamali, emphasized that September 6 is a day to reaffirm commitment to sacrifice lives for the defense of the homeland.

Pakistan observes September 6 every year as Defense Day to commemorate the armed forces’ efforts to defend the country against India’s attack in 1965.

In his message, Home Minister Balochistan said that on September 6, the brave armed forces of Pakistan thwarted the enemy’s evil designs alongside the entire nation, making this day a symbol of courage, national unity, self-sacrifice, and patriotism forever.

Defense Day a Special Place in Nation’s History

The caretaker home minister highlighted that September 6 holds a special place in the nation’s history, as it symbolizes the readiness of our armed forces and the Pakistani people to defend their motherland. He emphasized that they are fully aware and prepared to make any sacrifice to safeguard the borders of their beloved country.

Recalling the events of that day, the home minister noted that on September 6, 1965, Pakistan demonstrated that the defense of the motherland hinges not on numerical superiority but on national unity.

With a spirit of sacrifice and unwavering patriotism, they delivered a response to the enemy’s aggression.

Jamali underlined that the spirit of the armed forces and the Pakistani nation was evident on September 6, 1965, and it was this spirit that led to their victory, transforming Pakistan into an indomitable force.

He also expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people, affirming that the government and people of Balochistan will continue to offer political support to the Kashmiri people until they achieve their right to self-determination. He asserted that India’s state oppression has failed to suppress the Kashmiri freedom movement and will continue to face resistance in the future.
