ISLAMABAD: Dense fog in Islamabad and its adjacent areas on Saturday morning caused significant disruptions to bus, train, and flight schedules.
The twin cities, Rawalpindi and Islamabad residents find themselves shrouded in heavy fog, greatly reducing visibility and leading to substantial traffic disruptions.
The impact of the fog extended to the flight schedule at Islamabad International Airport, resulting in the cancellation of one flight and delays for seven others due to the temporary closure of the airport for both landings and take-offs. Runway visibility was limited to just 50 meters.
As per the airport’s flight inquiry, delays affected three PIA flights, two Serene Airlines flights, one Gulf Airlines flight, and one China Southern flight. PIA flight 601 from Islamabad to Gilgit was cancelled, PIA flight PK 301 from Islamabad to Karachi experienced a two-hour delay.
Additionally, Serene Airlines flight to Islamabad faced a seven-hour delay, Gulf Airlines flight GF 770 from Bahrain to Islamabad was delayed by five and a half hours, and China Southern Airlines flight CZ 6007 from Irqami, China to Islamabad experienced a delay of one hour and forty minutes.
National Airlines flight PK 300 from Karachi to Islamabad was delayed by one hour, and PIA flight PK 742 from Jeddah to Islamabad was delayed by one hour.

Similarly, Radio Pakistan reported that mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most plain areas of the country, while very cold and partly cloudy in northern parts during the next 12 hours.
