Deputy Prime Minister, UK Foreign Secretary Discuss Bilateral Relations

LONDON: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar has underscored the significance of strong Pakistan-UK partnership, advancing the wide-ranging bilateral agenda, and promoting regional stability and peace.

Talking to UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs David Lammy, he reiterated Islamabad’s desire for transforming the close and historic relations into an enhanced strategic partnership. Ishaq Dar lauded the contributions of British-Pakistanis in reinforcing ties between the two nations.

In his remarks, the UK Foreign Secretary also congratulated the Deputy Prime Minister on Pakistan’s election to the UNSC and reaffirmed London’s support for Pakistan during its term. The two sides reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral ties and discussed regional matters of common interest.

The two Ministers agreed to stay engaged in the run-up to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in October 2024
