WASHINGTON: Digital advertising trucks have displayed sharp messages around Washington regarding Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and demanding an end to the disputed state’s occupation as people of Kashmir and their supporters held protests marking Kashmir Black Day.
The electronic screens mounted on the trucks carried messages such as: “India: Stop Land Grabbing in Kashmir” and “No Election, No Selection: UN Resolutions Only Solution.”
According to APP, these vehicles drove around some of the landmarks in Washington, including Capitol Hill, State Department, the White House, the Washington Monument, various embassies, various museums, as well as National Mall, among others.
Other messages beamed from the vehicles were: “Indian Army Out of Kashmir,” “Stop: India’s Demographic Change in Kashmir,” “Elections in Kashmir Just a Name: Indian Government Has No Shame” and “Hold India Accountable for War Crimes in Kashmir.”
Talking to media, Dr. Ghulam N. Mir, President of the World Kashmir Awareness Forum and Chairman of the Kashmir Diaspora Coalition, stated that the miseries inflicted by the Indian settler-colonialism on the people of Kashmir go hand-in-hand with the terror being perpetrated by Israel on the innocent kids, men and women in occupied Palestine.
He said that the only solution to the mass suffering, dehumanization, and dispossession is their determined political resistance to the occupation and settler-colonization, just like it is for the people of Palestine. Dr.Mir stated that the Indians and Israelis were collaborators in annexing, settler-colonial and occupying projects. He said that Kashmiris and Palestinians must resist to survive for their own sake and their posterity.
On the occasion, Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, head of the World Forum for Peace & Justice stated that the people of Jammu & Kashmir were dismayed by the lack of action by the world powers to help halt the carnage in Kashmir and by their virtual indifference to the situation in their occupied region.
