ISLAMABAD: A “Digital Photographic and Painting Exhibition and Competition” was held at the Information Service Academy in Islamabad on Tuesday to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day. The event showcased a vibrant array of artistic expressions capturing Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Ambreen Jan, Secretary of the Ministry for Information and Broadcasting, who praised the participants for their dedication to representing Pakistan’s culture through their artwork.
During the opening ceremony, Secretary Jan awarded shields to the winners of the competition, highlighting the importance of supporting and nurturing artistic talent among the youth.
In her address, Secretary Jan emphasized the role of art in fostering national pride and urged the youth to draw inspiration from the exhibition. She expressed her commitment to supporting young talents and encouraged them to contribute to the country’s progress.
Following the award ceremony, Secretary Jan joined the attendees in cutting the Independence Day celebration cake, marking the occasion with a spirit of unity and national pride.
As Pakistan prepares to celebrate Independence Day on Wednesday, the country will commence festivities with a traditional 31-gun salute in the Federal Capital and a 21-gun salute at provincial headquarters. Special prayers will be offered in mosques at dawn for peace, solidarity, and prosperity of the nation.
The main feature of the celebrations will be a national flag hoisting ceremony in Islamabad. Similar flag hoisting ceremonies will also be held at provincial, divisional and district headquarters levels throughout the country.
Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television will highlight the services of the heroes of the Pakistan Movement on the day and pay tributes to their extraordinary contributions to making Pakistan a reality.
Meanwhile, roadside stalls selling flags, badges, stickers and clothes for adults and children have been set up in all cities of the country.
The national flag has been hoisted on the roofs of different public buildings while various public and private buildings have also been decorated with colourful lights.
