Drizzle in Different Cities of Pakistan Turns Weather Cold

ISLAMABAD: Light to moderate rain coupled with winds turned weather cold in different cities of Pakistan on Thursday Various cities including Islamabad. Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Kasur and Sheikhupura received light to moderate rain. The weather in Islamabad turned cold after a light drizzle coupled with mild to strong winds.

Earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department issued a rain forecast in various areas of South Punjab including Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, Multan, Khanewal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Vehari and Bahawalnagar on Thursday and Friday.


Rain and light rain forecast


The Met Office has predicted light and heavy rains from December 27 to December 29 in other areas, including Islamabad.According to airport sources, flight operations at Islamabad airport are facing delays due to heavy fog in the air. Due to the fog, two flights to and from Karachi have been canceled. Two flights to Dubai and Sharjah were also delayed.


Due to fog and reduced visibility, more flights are being delayed and cancelled. At least four international flights were diverted from Lahore to Islamabad, while two Turkish Airlines flights were canceled due to bad weather in Lahore.

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority said that due to reduced visibility at Islamabad, Multan and Lahore airports, Pakistan International Airlines flights PK-840 from Jeddah to Lahore, PK-739 from Lahore to Jeddah and PK-230 from Oman’s capital Muscat to Lahore were delayed. Similarly, Airblue flight PA-413 from Sharjah to Lahore was also delayed.
