Dubai Customs Distributes Iftar Meals to 10,000 Commuters During Ramadan

DUBAI: Dubai Customs has launched the “Al-Furdah Hands” initiative to distribute meals to individuals commuting on major roads just before iftar during Ramadan.

The initiative aims to distribute 10,000 Iftar meals to commuters on major highways throughout the holy month of Ramadan in the Rashid Port area.

On April 1st, around 150 volunteers from Dubai Customs, students from the Higher Colleges of Technology, the Dubai Police General Traffic Department, and people of determination participated in distributing the Iftar meals.

Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General (GD), Dubai Customs, emphasized the organization’s commitment to organizing several charitable volunteering programs as part of its strategic plans for corporate social responsibility.

The “Al-Furdah Hands” initiative is one of the various sustainable community initiatives of Dubai Customs during the holy month of Ramadan.

The initiative embodies the values of solidarity and communal participation, thereby bringing joy to the wider community.

Dubai volunteers’ participation in distributing Iftar meals

The volunteers aim to bring a sense of generosity and giving to charities as commanded by Islam and align with the vision of the government of UAE.

Bano Mustafa, a Consular Affairs officer, and Wikaxono, Consul for Consular Affairs of Indonesia in Dubai, also participated in distributing the meals.

Ahmed Mahboob Musabih highlighted the significance of reinforcing the concept of social responsibility in the community, highlighting the role and promoting positive volunteerism of Dubai Customs in social and charitable work.

The “Al-Furdah Hands” initiative is a part of Dubai Customs’ larger commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

This initiative reinforces the organization’s commitment to the principles of social cohesion and solidarity while promoting the values of generosity and giving, in line with Islamic teachings.
