E-Office System to Enhance Public Services and Transparency: Pakistan PM

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday that the primary goal of implementing the E-Office system in federal government ministries and departments is to enhance public services and ensure transparency.

He expressed these views during chairing a meeting to review the transition of federal ministries and departments to the E-Office system.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister of State for Information and Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja, PM’s Coordinator Rana Ahsan Afzal, and other senior officials, a press release issued from the PM Office Media Wing stated.

During the meeting, the prime minister highlighted that the E-Office system could save billions of rupees for the national exchequer and reduce paper usage, positively impacting the environment.

He also called for the simplification and security of the E-Office system.

Furthermore, the prime minister directed the acceleration of work on cooperation agreements with Huawei, a Chinese company.

The meeting included a briefing on the progress, implementation, and reforms related to the E-Office system.
