ISLAMABAD: An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale jolted Islamabad and various regions of the country at 5:30 am on Friday.
Tremors lasting for two to three seconds were also felt across various cities of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir.
Residents, alarmed by the seismic activity, emerged from their homes in panic, engaging in the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties or property damage anywhere in the country as a result of the earthquake.

No casualty or damage to property was reported from any part of the country due to the quake.
The National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad reported that the quake’s epicentre was situated in Southwestern Kashmir, with a depth of 11 kilometres. Notably, on Wednesday night, there were multiple tremors in Islamabad and Rawalpindi around 9:50 PM, lasting for 4-5 seconds.
