ECP Establishes Counters for Addressing Electoral Objections

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has established four counters at the Islamabad secretariat for guidance registration regarding electoral objections.

A separate counter has been set up for each province. All these counters have been established in front of the Commission’s building.

ECP Halts Final Results of Some Constituencies

Following complaints of rigging and other irregularities, the ECP stopped releasing the final results of several national and provincial constituencies.

The ECP bench comprising Member Balochistan Shah Mohammad Jatoi and Member Sindh Nisar Durrani heard the election complaints in the Election Commission.

The electoral watchdog has also stopped releasing the final results of NA 56 Rawalpindi, NA 52, NA 53, NA 57, NA 60 Jhelum, NA 126, NA 127 Lahore, NA 69 Mandi Bahauddin, and NA 87 Khushab.

It also sought a report from the RO while withholding the final results in NA-106 Toba Tek Singh.

Also, the ROs were barred from issuing final results in P 133 Nankana Sahib, PP 15 Rawalpindi, PP 7 Sargodha, P PP 43 Mandi Bahauddin, PP 12 Rawalpindi, PP 53, PP 279 Layyah, PP 6 Murree, PP 33 Gujrat, PP 126, PP 128 Jhang, PP 17, PP 4 Attock, and PP 121 Toba Tek Singh.

The ECP also halted releasing the final results of PB 44 Quetta and PB 14 Naseerabad.
