ECP Fixes Submitting Applications Dates for Postal Ballot Papers

PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has fixed dates for submission of applications to obtain postal ballot papers from government servants.

Provincial Election Commission said in a statement that for first phase of by-election on eight vacant seats of National Assembly on 16 March, all those government servants and their families whose votes are registered in these constituencies but they are residing outside it due to employment can send applications for casting votes through postal ballot till 2 March.  In the second phase, the last date for submission of such applications is 5 March 2023.

The facility is also available for persons with disabilities with national identity cards for special persons and imprisoned people.

Applications of Outside residents

Moreover, all such employees, including security personnel who are deployed for duty at polling stations outside of their constituencies, are also directed to submit applications for postal ballot paper within the period of 3 days of the issuance of posting order with their respective Returning Officer on the drafted farm.

The application farm could be obtained from the office of the concerned Returning Officer or downloaded from the ECP website.
