ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday released an updated list of registered political parties in the country, revealing a total of 175 political parties.

Notably, the list categorizes Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as a leaderless political party, removing the name of PTI founder Imran Khan from the party heads. Meanwhile, the Pervez Khattak-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Parliamentarians has been included in the list of political parties.

ECP Declares PTI’s Intra-party Elections Null and Void

Earlier, the ECP made a significant decision related to PTI’s intra-party elections, leading to the loss of the party’s electoral symbol ‘bat.’ The ECP, after hearing arguments from all parties, declared PTI’s intra-party elections null and void. The ECP verdict also indicated that Gohar Ali Khan, who had been newly elected as the PTI chairman to replace Imran Khan, would no longer hold the position.

This development adds another layer of complexity to PTI’s internal dynamics, raising questions about the party’s leadership structure and its implications for future political engagements.
