ISLAMABAD: The second consultative meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) ended without reaching a conclusion regarding the Supreme Court’s ruling on reserved seats.

Chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, the high-level meeting included ECP members, the secretary, and the legal team, who discussed the implications of the Supreme Court’s verdict.

Sources indicate that following the briefing, the commission decided to continue consultations, with a follow-up meeting scheduled for Thursday.

On September 14, the Supreme Court bench, led by Mansoor Ali Shah, clarified that the ECP could not postpone the implementation of the reserved seats ruling.

The verdict stated that those who submitted party certificates would be considered PTI’s successful candidates, and the ECP must act on this decision promptly or face repercussions.
