Educational Institutes to Remain Closed Amid Elections in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Schools will remain closed for the entire next week on account of Kashmir Day and the general elections 2024 in Pakistan.

Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and the federal directorate of education have announced that the schools will be closed from February 3 till February 11.

The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training announced that public holidays from February 6 to 9 due to commencement of upcoming general elections in the South Asian country. While the official reopening of educational institutions in the federal capital is scheduled for February 10, public and private schools will remain closed from February 3 to 11, considering the usual weekend break on Saturday and Sunday.

In Punjab, schools, colleges, and universities will be closed from February 6 to 9 and the decision applies to both public and private educational institutions.

The Sindh Education Department also announced the closure of all public and private educational institutions in the province from February 6 to 9, including February 5, a public holiday for Kashmir Day.

Similarly, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government also decided to close educational institutes across the province from February 6 to 9 in light of the upcoming general elections.
