ISLAMABAD: You can easily make pav at home using flour, milk, sugar, and butter. These pav buns are perfect for serving with bhaji or other dishes.
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp instant yeast
2 tbsp melted butter
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1/4 cup milk
2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine yeast, sugar, and lukewarm water. Mix well and let the yeast dissolve completely. Then, add milk, melted butter, and salt, mixing again.
Gradually add the all-purpose flour, stirring until a dough forms. Cover the bowl for 30 minutes.
Once the dough has doubled in size, wet your fingers and fold the dough, tucking it into the center. Transfer it to a floured countertop.
Flatten the dough with your hands and divide it into equal portions. You can weigh the pieces for uniform size if you like.
Grease an 8-inch square pan with butter. Place the dough portions in the pan, cover with cling wrap, and let it rise for 20-25 minutes.
Brush the tops of the buns with milk and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Once baked, brush with butter and serve warm.
