SUKKUR: The Kashmore police Friday claimed to have killed eight dacoits during a shootout in the katcha area of the district.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amjad Ali Shaikh, the dacoits were killed in a police encounter in the katcha area of Kashmore. These dacoits were entering the province’s katcha area from Punjab when they met an encounter with the police, he said further.
Janu Indhar, the ring leader of the ‘Indhar Gang’ was also among those killed in the encounter, said the SSP adding a head money of Rs10 million was set for him.
The dacoits were wanted to police in heinous crimes like dacoity, kidnapping for ransom, murders, and attempt to murder, the SSP said. A search operation was also carried out in the area. —APP
