NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Pakistan: Eight members of a family died in a deadly collision between a car and a passenger coach near Moro area of Sindh on Saturday.
An accident reportedly took place in Mehrabpur, a city in the Naushahro Feroze district of Sindh province and the driver fled from the scene. Later, another vehicle approaching from the opposite direction rammed into the vehicles and was completely destroyed due to the impact.
The police said eight members of a family were killed in the accident. The deceased were riding in an oncoming car. Meanwhile, over 10 passengers from the coach were reportedly injured by the collision.
The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital for medical aid but their injuries were not said to be serious.
According to the police, the deceased were on their way to their ancestral village to celebrate Eid. Hospital sources said those who died in the traffic accident also included women. The deceased belonged to the Kashmore area of Sindh.
Last month, a road accident in the Salt Range portion of the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway claimed 13 lives that was largely a result of ‘criminal’ negligence, according to the complaint filed by the motorway police at the Kallar Kahar police station.
