WASHINGTON: Elon Musk has revealed that his highly anticipated cage fight with Mark Zuckerberg is set to take place in Italy, as discussions with Italian authorities about hosting a charity event gain momentum.

On his X social media platform, Musk mentioned that he had spoken to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano, and they had agreed on an “epic location” for the match.

While the historic Colosseum in Rome was initially suggested as a potential venue, Sangiuliano clarified that the event would not be held there. Instead, the details are being worked out to create a “great charity event evoking history” that would benefit Italian pediatric hospitals.

Musk emphasized that the event would respect Italy’s rich heritage, and proceeds from the fight would go towards veterans. The cage match would be organized by foundations led by Musk and Zuckerberg, not by UFC, the mixed martial arts promoter.

Dana White, the head of UFC, expressed interest in the event and estimated that it could generate around $1 billion in revenue.

Proposed Cage Fight Between Elon Musk and Zuckerberg

The proposed cage fight between Musk and Zuckerberg has been a topic of speculation and interest, further fueled by their rivalry in the tech industry. Zuckerberg’s Meta recently launched the Threads platform, placing the two tech moguls in direct competition.

While Musk did not specify a date for the event, he mentioned the need for minor surgery to address a shoulder issue. Despite his health concern, he reassured that his titanium plate, which holds two vertebrae together, is currently not problematic.

Zuckerberg, known for his enthusiasm for martial arts, particularly jiujitsu, has not yet commented on the proposed cage fight.
