NEW YORK: Tech billionaire Elon Musk has responded to claims made by influencer and author Ashley St. Clair that he fathered her child five months ago.

St. Clair, 26, made the revelation in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on 14 February, alleging that the Tesla and SpaceX CEO is the father of her baby and has ignored attempts at communication.

Musk, 53, reacted on Saturday with a one-word response, replying “Whoa” to an X post. She quickly countered, urging him to engage directly. “Elon, we have been trying to communicate for the past several days and you have not responded,” she wrote.

According to The New York Post, Musk has 12 other children from previous relationships. He shares five children with his first wife, author Justine Wilson—twins Vivian and Griffin, and triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian.

He also has three children with musician Grimes: X Æ A-12, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus. Additionally, The New York Times has reported that Musk has three children with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, including twins Strider and Azure, as well as a third child born in early 2024.

Brian Glicklich, a representative for St. Clair, confirmed the claim in a post on X, stating that the two had been privately negotiating a co-parenting agreement. However, he blamed media scrutiny for disrupting the process.

“It is disappointing that a tabloid reporter, who repeatedly ambushed Ashley and her family, made it impossible to complete that process confidentially,” he wrote. He added that they were awaiting Musk’s public acknowledgment of his parental role.

St. Clair said she had initially kept the matter private to protect her child but felt compelled to speak out due to mounting media attention. In a follow-up post, she thanked her supporters and criticised the press, stating, “Kids should be off-limits for journalists.”

Musk has not directly addressed the claim beyond his brief social media response and has continued posting on X about other topics.

The internet, meanwhile, has turned the revelation into a viral spectacle, with memes circulating about Musk’s growing number of children.
