BASTROP, United States: Tech billionaire Elon Musk has suggested X might launch “Xmail,” the potential rival of Gmail.
His teaser has triggered excitement among fans and critics of Google’s dominance.
The confirmation surfaced following a post on X from Nathan McGrady, a senior member of X’s Security Engineering team, who inquired about the launch date of Xmail.
The speculation started when the X account DodgeDesigner shared a post hinting that an X-based email service would be “cool.” Musk also confirmed the concept is under consideration.

According to recent data, Apple Mail leads the international email market with a 53.67% share, followed by Gmail at 30.70%.
Outlook, Yahoo! Mail, and Google Android collectively account for less than 10% of the global email market. Experts say that if Musk introduces ‘Xmail,’ it could disrupt the current market dynamics, leveraging his influence as the world’s richest man and US President-elect’s ‘First Buddy.’
Fans have already started to rally behind the idea. The potential of ‘Xmail’ shows Musk’s desire to expand X’s ecosystem and challenge established tech giants. Whether it will succeed remains to be seen, but the expectation is already high.
