WASHINGTON: Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has reportedly welcomed his 14th child, a son named Seldon Lycurgus, with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis. The news was confirmed by Zilis in a post on X, formerly Twitter, where she wrote:
“Discussed with Elon and, in light of beautiful Arcadia’s birthday, we felt it was better to also just share directly about our wonderful and incredible son Seldon Lycurgus.”
Musk responded to the announcement with a heart emoji. Zilis did not disclose the date of the child’s birth.
The couple’s parenting journey first became public in 2022 when court documents revealed they had secretly welcomed twins, Strider and Azure, in November 2021.
Their third child, Arcadia, was born on 28 February 2024.
Custody dispute with Ashley St. Clair
Musk’s latest child announcement comes amid legal proceedings initiated by conservative influencer and children’s author Ashley St. Clair, who has reportedly sued him for custody of their alleged five-month-old child, referred to as R.S.C. in court documents.
According to People magazine, a court filing dated 28 February states that lawyers for St. Clair have requested Musk’s presence at the New York County Courthouse on 29 May.
The hearing is expected to determine whether Musk must undergo a paternity test and provide child support, as well as whether St. Clair will be granted sole custody.
St. Clair’s lawyer, Karen B. Rosenthal, criticised Musk for allegedly evading legal proceedings.
“Despite requests, Mr Musk has still not accepted service of the motion papers via his alleged attorneys, which is easy enough to do,” Rosenthal said in a statement to People.
“As a result of avoiding personal service, he has prolonged the litigation and caused unnecessary distress. It should be noted that no attorney has opted in to the NYSCEF system claiming they represent Mr Musk.”
An evidence filing cited by People shows that St. Clair’s lawyers requested the case be heard in New York City.
“We want to avoid attempting service at the White House and at other sensitive locations,” an attorney for St. Clair wrote in an email, as per the report.
“Attempting service at the White House would, in our view, be sub-optimal optics for Elon, and Ashley would like to avoid doing this.”
Musk’s expanding family
St. Clair publicly claimed on X earlier this month that she gave birth to Musk’s 13th child five months ago, writing:
“I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child’s privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause.”
In addition to his children with Zilis and St. Clair, Musk shares three children with singer Claire “Grimes” Boucher: X Æ A-12, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus (Tau).
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO also has five older children with his former wife, author Justine Wilson: twins Vivian and Griffin, 20, and triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian, 19.
The couple’s first child, Nevada Alexander, died of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at 10 weeks old in 2002.
Despite previous tensions between Grimes and Zilis over Musk’s growing family, the two reportedly reconciled in September 2023.
“At the end of the day, it all ended up for the best!” Grimes wrote on X at the time. Zilis responded, “Looking forward to future playdates.”
