ISLAMABAD/LOS ANGELES: Emma Mackey, who played Maeve Wiley in the Netflix coming-of-age series S** Education, might not return to a next season of a popular show.

Mackey, 27, in her recent talk with Total movieshared her feelings about playing the teenager at 30and her possible exit from the show.

She said that “It’s just always tricky; it’s different when you are playing a character that is sort of stuck in time. You know, we are playing 17-year-olds, and we are all almost 30, it is a bit weird”.

She further continued, “It’s the blessing because it is the launchpad, and it is something that has given us opportunities in different ways but something I want to gracefully exit from, and be happy that it exists and protect it and enjoy it in the time that it existed in, but yes, it needs to be left alone now, I think. […] We can move on and take what we learned from S** Ed as well because it has been the school, quite literally, for all of us.”

She also said, “It’s just wonderful to have had the education and to have that baptism of fire and to just flung into that whole world. I think that it’s made us stronger”.

S** Education revolves around Otis, who is a teenager, and his mother is an s** therapist. He teams up with his class fellow Maeve to help students with an underground s** clinic.

The first season of the show had released in January 2019 on Netflix.
