London: England Captain Jos Buttler will not be available for the 3rd T20I match against Pakistan to be held on Tuesday as the English skipper will be with his wife, who is about to give birth to the couple’s third child.
The 33-year-old batter smashed a brilliant 84 runs match-winning inning to take his team to a 1-0 lead in the rain-affected four-game series with a 23-run win in Birmingham on Saturday.
However, now he would not be available for the side in the third contest in Cardiff whereas the vice-captain Moeen Ali is expected to lead the team for the contest.
Meanwhile, in the absence of Buttler, young batter Ben Duckett or Will Jaks might be replaced as opener. The number three batter scored a fine 37 runs innings of just 23 balls against Pakistan in the 2nd T20I at Birmingham.
Surrey all-rounder Jacks recently returned from a stint in the T20 Indian Premier League, where he made a dashing unbeaten hundred to lead Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a nine-wicket win over Gujarat Titans.
The ongoing series between Pakistan and England is a warm-up contest for both the depending and runner-up sides of the ICC 2022 event.
After the series, which concludes at The Oval in London on Thursday, both sides would move for the major ICC event that begins on June 1 in the Caribbean and the United States.
