MUMBAI: England secured a decisive victory against hosts India on Saturday, claiming the Women’s T20 International (WT20I) series with a win in the second match of the three-game series. Heather Knight’s side exhibited a commendable bowling performance, overcoming some challenges in the chase to emerge victorious by four wickets.
Opting to bat at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, India faced a tough outing, posting their third-lowest WT20I total by being dismissed for a mere 80 runs in 16.2 overs. Jemimah Rodrigues stood out as the top-scorer, contributing a 33-ball 33, which included two boundaries.

England’s Impressive Bowling
England’s bowlers, including Charlie Dean, Lauren Bell, Sophie Ecclestone, and Sarah Glenn, impressed by each securing two wickets.
In pursuit of the 81-run target, England faced a few hiccups but managed to successfully chase it down in 11.2 overs, losing six wickets in the process. Alice Capsey played a crucial role, top-scoring with a 21-ball 25, featuring four fours. Deepti Sharma and Renuka Singh took two wickets each for India.
With this victory, England has secured the series win and will now aim for a clean sweep in the third WT20I, scheduled to take place on Sunday at the same venue. The visitors have showcased their dominance in the series against the host team.
