GUYANA: England skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to bowl first in the rain-interrupted second T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final at the Providence Stadium on Thursday.

Jos Buttler said that England are unchanged. “It looks like a decent surface, everyone’s talked about the low bounce at this ground. With the rain around we hope it’s an advantage to bowl first.”

The toss was delayed due to intermittent rains at the Providence Stadium.

The men in blue are seeking revenge against Jos Buttler’s side, who defeated India by 10 wickets in the 2022 World Cup semi-final in Adelaide.

Although there is no reserve day scheduled for the match, an additional 250 minutes are allocated for completion, adhering to the rules in case rain interruptions occur.

India: Rohit Sharma (capt), Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah

England: Jos Buttler (capt & wk), Phil Salt, Jonny Bairstow, Harry Brook, Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Chris Jordan, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Reece Topley
