BRIDGETOWN: England became the first team to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final after beating the United States with a 10-wickets in their last Super 8 game played at the Kensington Oval, Barbados on Sunday.
Jos Buttler and Phil Salt chased the 116-run target in just 9.4 overs without losing a single wicket and giving tough time to all USA bowlers.
Buttler made 83 runs off just 38 balls with the help of six fours and seven sixes. He hit five sixes in a row to USA’s Harmeet Singh in the ninth over.
England were the last team to reach the Super 8 but became the first side to make their way to the semi-final of the tournament.
