LONDON: Former England captain Michael Vaughan has accused the International Cricket Council (ICC) of bias towards the Indian team in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

He criticized the scheduling that disadvantaged Afghanistan, who had to travel immediately after their qualifying match in St Vincent to Trinidad without adequate time for preparation. A flight takes 4 hours from St Vincent to Trinidad.

Vaughan pointed out that Afghanistan, having secured their semifinal spot, faced South Africa without sufficient time to adjust to a new venue, resulting in a significant loss.

He argued that the semifinal should have been scheduled in Guyana, suggesting favouritism towards India has affected fairness in the tournament.

“This scheduling has shown utter disrespect for players and disadvantaged teams other than India,” Vaughan alleged.
