MULTAN: England fast bowler Olly Stone has left Pakistan early, departing from the ongoing Test series to return home for his wedding, scheduled for this weekend.

The 31-year-old was not included in the playing XI for the first Test in Multan, making it likely that he will miss the second match as well. Stone mentioned that the wedding date was set before his unexpected recall to the England Test squad in August for the Sri Lanka series, where he took seven wickets in two matches.

Acknowledging the hectic schedule, Stone reflected on prioritizing personal milestones after years of planning around cricket tours. England’s star Joe Root expressed excitement for Stone, calling it a special moment in his life. Stone’s decision mirrors Root’s own experience of rescheduling his wedding due to cricket commitments.

Meanwhile, the England team is focused on the ongoing first Test, trailing Pakistan’s massive 556, thanks to a century from Agha Salman.
