Erdogan, Jordan’s King Discuss Palestine-Israel Conflict

ANKARA: Türkiye’s President Tayyip Erdogan and Jordanian King Abdullah II have held discussions over measures that can be taken at regional and international levels to resolve the current Palestinian- Israeli conflict.

According to Turkish media, in a telephone call, the two sides discussed humanitarian matters in the region, and means to achieve peace. President Erdogan expressed the need the need to be on vigilant for the possibility of crisis spreading in the region.

The Turkish President also underscored Ankara’s readiness to provide all types of support, including mediation in order to end the conflict.

In a dramatic escalation of Middle East tensions, Israel has launched a forceful military drive against Gaza after the Palestinian group Hamas’s operation in Israel.

The fight began on Saturday when Hamas launched a surprise operation against Israel. Hamas stated the operation was in retaliation for the attacking of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem and Israeli settlers’ growing violence against people of Palestine.
