Erdogan Says Ankara will not Approve NATO Attempts to Cooperate with Israel

WASHINGTON: Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has said that it is not possible for NATO to continue its partnership with the Israel.

“Until comprehensive, long-term peace is established in Palestine, attempts at cooperation with Israel within NATO alliance will not be approved by Ankara,” President Erdogan said at a press conference at the NATO summit.

He said that they also continue their diplomatic efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict.  President Erdogan stated as well that he has issued directives to Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to meet Syrian leader Bashar Assad to start to restore ties with Syria.

Responding to a question about F-16 sales to Ankara, President Erdogan said: “I talked to Joe Biden and the matter will be addressed in few weeks.”
