KARACHI: Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Pakistan, has inaugurated the Honorary Consulate of Ethiopia in Karachi which will further boost the already flourishing bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Ambassador, talking to the media, congratulated Ibrahim Tawab, Honorary Consul of Ethiopia in Karachi, on the opening of the diplomatic mission.
He added that Karachi is a financial hub as well as the cultural center of Pakistan, adding the opening of the Consulate not only strengthens the bilateral trade but also bolsters people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
He said the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Pakistan has been playing a key role in Look Africa and Engage Africa Policy, contributing massively to linking Pakistan with Africa.
The Government of the FDR Ethiopia first established its diplomatic mission in Islamabad in 2022, brought the Ethiopian Airlines in 2023 and this year inaugurated the Honorary Consulate in Karachi, he added.
On the occasion, Ibrahim Tawab highlighted the extraordinary trade, business, and investment opportunities in Ethiopia. He praised the vision of Dr. Jemal Beker for promoting trade relations between Pakistan and Africa.
